Dr S came to us for advice on behalf of his company . They were hoping to take on someone from America as their MD. Mr V, but did not hold a sponsorship licence enabling them to employ non European nationals. We assisted the company in successfully applying for a sponsorship licence and advised Dr S on his obligations as the MD of a company with such a licence. Once the company had issued a certificate of sponsorship Mr V was able to apply for a visa to come to the UK to work. We advised him of the documents he needed to collect for his application and on the conditions which would attach to his permission to live here. He was granted a visa enabling him to work in the UK for a period of three years. We advised Dr S on the checks he needed to make before Mr V actually started to work and that such checks should be made on a yearly basis.
