A cohabitation agreement is a document setting out the agreement reached between the couple covering what they intend their respective rights and obligations to be. Cohabitation agreements help by recording the intentions of both parties when entering into the relationship which helps to provide certainty and protect both party's interests. Cohabitation agreements also help by focusing each party's minds on the implications of their actions and the extent of their responsibilities in the relationship.
