Mr V needed our help with his son's appeal against refusal of a settlement visa. He had applied to come and live with his father in the UK but had been refused on the basis that his mother was still alive and in Thailand.  In fact his mother had herself recently come to live in the UK meaning that both the boy's parents were living here, although estranged. We prepared the appeal, taking detailed witness statements from both parents and preparing an appeal bundle for the Immigration Tribunal, including proof that our client could look after his son. We gathered salary slips, a letter from his landlord, and so on. We instructed a barrister to attend the Tribunal on behalf of our client's son and , following the success of the appeal, the boy was able to come and live with his father in the UK.
