Ms O came to the UK as a visitor from Kenya. Whilst visiting her aunt she approached the British army with a view to joining up. She was invited to take part in a day of physical tests but her visa was due to expire before she could do this. We obtained proof from the local recruitment office that she had been invited to take part in tests and asked her aunt to confirm that she was happy to continue to support her financially whilst she remained in the country. We then submitted an application and a further 6 months permission was given, meaning that she could take part in the tests and undergo the rest of the interview process.
