Mr R was a passenger in a rally kart being driven by another member of his group when the accident occurred. Whilst driving around the rally kart course, the rally kart rolled over causing the Mr R to dislocate his right shoulder, sustain a degloving injury to his right hand, and fracture a finger which required fixation. There was no suggestion that the person driving the kart was responsible for the accident, and it was argued that the activity centre had not carried out proper risk assessments of either the course or the equipment, and was therefore responsible for the accident. The claim was ultimately settled for £34,000.

Mr P sustained a serious injury to his lower right leg whilst participating in a clay pigeon shoot.  Mr P unfortunately sustained a gun shot injury to his lower right leg which resulted in a fracture to his fibula, together with skin loss and a large open wound to his right calf.  The injuries were so severe that Mr P nearly lost his lower limb. Mr P who had intentions of joining the armed Services nearly had his ambitions compromised due to the severity of his injuries, was later able to take up a position with in the Army, albeit 2 years after he had intended to. He was successful in recovering £140,000.

Mr T attended a charity fun day at a local public house and was a spectator to someone who was demonstrating fire breathing. In the course of watching the entertainment, paraffin was squirted onto Mr T's trousers which then caused them to catch light. Mr T was left with significant and permanent scarring to his stomach and torso area. There was some suggestion that Mr T was partially responsible for his injuries and the settlement of £22,000 therefore took this into account.
